Eligibility
For admission to the first year of the diploma course in Pharmacy, the candidate should have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (Std. XII) Examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education or any other examination declared by the said Board to be equivalent thereto, with & in (1) Physics, (2) Chemistry, (3) Biology / Mathematics & (4) English.
Duration of the Course
The duration of the course shall be for two academic years, with each academic year spread over a period of not less than one hundred and eighty working days in addition to minimum 500 hours Practical training spread over a period of not less than 3 months.
Course of study
The Course of Study for Diploma in Pharmacy First year and Diploma in Pharmacy second year shall include the subjects as given in the Tables I and Tables II below. The number of hours devoted to each subject for its teaching in Theory and Practical, shall not be less than that noted against it in column 3 and 4 of the table below.

Sessional and Annual Examination Marks
Sessional examinations form an integral part of the First and Second year Examination Marks obtained in these examinations are added to the annual examination of each year in the following manner.

Professional Opportunities in Pharmacy
Pharmacist is an important link between the patient and Doctor. He observed high ethical standards particularly so when he is entrusted with the storage distribution of dangerous and habit forming drugs. He alone takes proper care in dispensing medicine. Following professional avenues are open to those who passed D.Pharm.
- In Drug Stores.
- In chemist shops with dispensing facilities.
- In Hospitals, in the Pharmacy or Drug stores.
- In Government departments and Laboratories connected with the food and Drug Administration.
- In manufacturing and marketing section of the Pharmaceutical industry.
- In self-employment, like starting Drug Store Medical shop or small scale unit.
- May get admission to B. Pharmacy Second year.
